Soul

of

Smaller Cities

Every year the Nagrika Team puts together a calendar for the following year based on our inspirations or the things we learned. The 2025 Calendar, “Soul of Smaller Cities” features photos taken by the first cohort of Nagrika Fellows, capturing the daily rhythms of their hometowns. In line with Nagrika's commitment to highlight knowledge emerging from smaller urban centers, these pictures bring this knowledge to a physical form on our desks.

Nagrika uses knowledge to enable better governance and citizen-led transformation in small cities

We build the evidence for meaningful citizen inputs in deciding the future of our smaller cities. We identify and build the pathways that can lead these inputs to the relevant decision makers.

We have always believed in the power of citizens, communities, deep evidence-based knowledge creation, and citizen engagement. We have an unwavering commitment to preserving the unique character of small towns while ensuring sustainable development.

Over the years, we have been serving this commitment through conversations, shining a light on the lesser-known aspects of small towns, and championing citizen engagement in influencing policy agendas. We are creating quality and reliable publicly available knowledge that can keep our citizens informed on issues that matter to them and their cities. As a small team, we have been grateful to have had this opportunity.
