Research Associate
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team in a research role. The ideal candidate would demonstrate a proactive approach, initiative, and commitment. The research associate position is perfect for someone who wants real world experience and hone their research and writing skills. Our previous research associates have learned incredibly and gone on to do brilliant things in the world including pursuing higher studies with premier universities in the world, working with national level institutions and think tanks.

Responsibilities
Conduct primary and secondary research on issues related to urban policy, urban transport, sustainability and other issues related to cities and its citizen.
Convert complex ideas into more accessible informational tools for citizens and governments alike
Outreach and networking with city governments and city based stakeholders
Support research initiatives undertaken by the team
Writing field notes and providing inputs to the team on the final outputs
Research of national and international policies, laws, practices & processes
Data combing from existing databases, websites and other secondary sources
Preparing and administering qualitative research tools on various Nagrika programs
Translate ideas and concepts discussed at brainstorming sessions into short notes and provide written inputs as seen necessary
Assist in preparation of proposals, applications, presentations, policy briefs.
Support the content creation for Nagrika’s Social Media Platforms
Support ongoing Nagrika Initiatives
Qualifications
Masters and bachelors level in programs such as public policy, law, social sciences, design, journalism, anthropology, urban design, urban policy, with a preference for multi-disciplinary programs.
Excellent written and verbal skills
Curiosity and interest about all things related to small cities
Proactive and ability to work independently
Proficient with MS Office Suite/ Google Workspace
Knowledge of canva or other editing softwares will be an advantage
Previous experience with qualitative and quantitative research will be an advantage

Design and Social Media Associate

Nagrika is looking for a creative and detail-oriented Design and Social Media Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating visually compelling graphics, social media content, and digital assets using Canva and other design tools. This role involves collaborating with content creators, marketers, and researchers to enhance Nagrika’s visual identity across various platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
Graphic Design & Content Creation
Design infographics based on written content using Canva.
Create Instagram post slides based on provided commentaries.
Design website cover pages and banners for websites, YouTube channels and various platforms using Canva
Develop detailed reports with structured text styles, numbering, and formatting.
Design Instagram stories for specific content pieces.
Create research report graphics and illustrations on Canva.
Design event launch posts, panel announcements, and outreach materials (e.g., testimonials, deadlines, jury announcements, result announcements) for Social Media
Assist in designing case study reports, currently on Google Docs, with further enhancements.
Presentations & Video Editing
Design Google Slides presentations, integrating high-quality images and graphics.
Edit short videos for social media, including trimming and adding banners.
Edit podcast video and audio for online distribution.
Other Digital Content & Tools
Customize and enhance Google Forms for feedback and applications.
Create announcement posts for multiple platforms and repurpose content for the website.
Manage and update design templates for consistency across branding materials.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Proficiency in Canva for designing infographics, reports, social media graphics, and banners.
Experience in social media content design and digital marketing is essential.
Great writing skills to be able to break down complex ideas into easily understandable bits.
Strong understanding of typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy in design.
Basic knowledge of video editing for social media (e.g., trimming, adding text overlays).
Familiarity with Google Slides and Google Forms customization.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.

We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team in a dynamic role that involves communication, project management, research, and more. The ideal candidate would demonstrate a proactive approach, initiative, and commitment. They should be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and providing executive support when needed.

Responsibilities
Project Development: Support in executing projects in collaboration with the co-founders and other team members.
Project Management: Take full responsibility for project execution and manage all necessary project components including co-ordinating with team members.
Collateral Development: Support in high-quality materials for effective partnerships and fundraising efforts.
Team Management: Help with the day to day task management of the team

Qualifications
Education and Work Experience: A master’s degree preferred in public policy or social sciences with a minimum of 3 years of work experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of work experience.
Quick learner and adaptable: Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, along with fluency in oral communication in Hindi. Preference will be given to candidates with Hindi reading and writing skills.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of people, including people from NGOs, government, academia among others
Project Management: Proficiency in project management and implementation.
Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage tasks effectively.
