Research Associate
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team in a research role. The ideal candidate would demonstrate a proactive approach, initiative, and commitment. The research associate position is perfect for someone who wants real world experience and hone their research and writing skills. Our previous research associates have learned incredibly and gone on to do brilliant things in the world including pursuing higher studies with premier universities in the world, working with national level institutions and think tanks.
Location: Dehradun with hybrid work
Responsibilities
Conduct primary and secondary research on issues related to urban policy, urban transport, sustainability and other issues related to cities and its citizen.
Convert complex ideas into more accessible informational tools for citizens and governments alike
Outreach and networking with city governments and city based stakeholders
Support research initiatives undertaken by the team
Writing field notes and providing inputs to the team on the final outputs
Research of national and international policies, laws, practices & processes
Data combing from existing databases, websites and other secondary sources
Preparing and administering qualitative research tools on various Nagrika programs
Translate ideas and concepts discussed at brainstorming sessions into short notes and provide written inputs as seen necessary
Assist in preparation of proposals, applications, presentations, policy briefs.
Support the content creation for Nagrika’s Social Media Platforms
Support ongoing Nagrika Initiatives
Qualifications
Masters and bachelors level in programs such as public policy, law, social sciences, design, journalism, anthropology, urban design, urban policy, with a preference for multi-disciplinary programs.
Excellent written and verbal skills
Curiosity and interest about all things related to small cities
Proactive and ability to work independently
Proficient with MS Office Suite/ Google Workspace
Knowledge of canva or other editing softwares will be an advantage
Previous experience with qualitative and quantitative research will be an advantage
Previous work experience will be an advantage
Associate to Directors’ Office
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our team in a dynamic role that involves communication, project management, research, and more. The ideal candidate would demonstrate a proactive approach, initiative, and commitment. They should be capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously and providing executive support when needed.
Location: Dehradun with hybrid work
Responsibilities
Project Development: Support in executing projects in collaboration with the co-founders and other team members.
Project Management: Take full responsibility for project execution and manage all necessary project components including co-ordinating with team members.
Collateral Development: Support in high-quality materials for effective partnerships and fundraising efforts.
Team Management: Help with the day to day task management of the team
Additional Tasks: Perform any other duties as required
Qualifications
Education and Work Experience: A master’s degree preferred in public policy or social sciences with a minimum of 3 years of work experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 5 years of work experience.
Quick learner and adaptable: Willingness to learn quickly and adapt to new challenges.
Communication Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, along with fluency in oral communication in Hindi. Preference will be given to candidates with Hindi reading and writing skills.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of people, including people from NGOs, government, academia among others
Project Management: Proficiency in project management and implementation.
Organizational and Time Management Skills: Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage tasks effectively.
Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail in all tasks and deliverables.
Remote Collaboration: Ability to communicate and work effectively with a remote team.
Independent Work: Capability to work independently in a primarily remote team environment.
Problem-Solving: Resourceful with a problem-solving approach.
